Yes. Medicare Part B can help cover portable oxygen equipment when it’s medically necessary and prescribed by your doctor. Our team helps you navigate the process, handle the paperwork, and access your equipment with Medicare reimbursement options available.
How much does Medicare pay for oxygen equipment?
Medicare pays 80% of the approved monthly allowable for oxygen equipment. If you have a secondary insurance they will pick up the remaining 20%.
How long does Medicare cover oxygen equipment?
Medicare covers oxygen equipment as long as it is medically necessary.
What are the requirements to qualify for Medicare oxygen coverage?
To qualify, your doctor must confirm that oxygen therapy is medically necessary. This usually includes low blood oxygen levels, a qualifying medical condition, and proof that oxygen therapy will improve your health.
Will Medicare pay for both portable oxygen concentrator and my oxygen tanks?
No, Medicare will not cover a portable oxygen concentrator in addition to the oxygen tanks.
