Things To Know

Product Info
The X-PLOR portable oxygen concentrator delivers 1 to 4 flow settings and weighs only 3.4 pounds. Featuring our ModulAir® and Airgonomical™ design that makes it lightweight and compact, the X-PLOR is ideal for patients who want to replace their heavy oxygen tanks without missing a moment. With a rechargeable battery, easy-to-use interface, and high oxygen output, supplementary oxygen devices have never been more approachable or affordable. You’ll be ready to be involved in all the life moments that count.
Can I use the X-PLOR4 while charging?
Yes, the X-PLOR4 can be used while it is plugged into an AC electrical outlet or a DC vehicle outlet. The external power will run the unit and charge the battery at the same time.
How long does it take to charge the batteries?
It takes 5 hours to charge 4 cell and 6 hours to charge the 8 cell X-PLOR4 batteries.
Can I use the X-PLOR4 while sleeping?
The X-PLOR4 provides only pulse flow oxygen, which requires sufficient inhalation to trigger the pulse of oxygen. While many oxygen users can use a pulse unit while sleeping, others tend to breathe too shallow or through their mouth and are unable to trigger the pulse. These oxygen users would be best served by using the DISCOV-R portable concentrator that delivers 2 liters continuous flow while sleeping and up to 8 pulse flow setting while walking.

The YES and NO of Medicare Coverage

No, Medicare will not purchase a portable oxygen concentrator. They only provide a monthly benefit for oxygen equipment.

No, Medicare will not cover a portable oxygen concentrator in addition to the oxygen tanks you most likely already receive. They don’t pay more money for more equipment.

Yes, your Medicare oxygen benefit covers the cost of oxygen. However, the portable oxygen benefit can be satisfied with larger gaseous tanks or a portable oxygen concentrator.

No, most homecare providers do not choose to provide a portable concentrator. Since they receive the same amount of reimbursement from Medicare for a portable concentrator as they would for an oxygen tank.
